Withdrawing cash from an ATM has traditionally required a debit or ATM card. But with the rapid growth of digital banking and mobile apps, it is now possible to access money even without carrying your physical card. Several banks have introduced cardless cash withdrawal facilities that allow customers to withdraw funds securely using their smartphones.
In situations where you urgently need cash and realise you’ve forgotten your ATM card at home, these cardless options can be extremely helpful. By using mobile banking apps, UPI services, or one-time codes generated through your bank, you can withdraw money quickly and safely from designated ATMs without inserting a card.
AePS Cash Withdrawal: How to Withdraw Money?
Visit a banking correspondent (bank agent) or a shop with a Micro-ATM or AePS-enabled device.
Inform the agent that you want to withdraw cash and provide your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
Select your bank from the list displayed on the device.
Complete biometric authentication by placing your finger on the scanner.
Once authorized, collect your cash and receipt from the agent.
Where can you find a Micro ATM?
You can avail services like a Micro ATM from a BC (Business Correspondent). This is a bank agent who provides essential services to customers.
How much can you withdraw?
The amount of cash you can withdraw per day through the AePS process depends on the bank. Each bank may have different limits.
Other Methods To Withdraw Money From ATM Without Card
Use a UPI-enabled ATM by choosing the “UPI Cash Withdrawal” option, scan the on-screen QR code through apps like BHIM, PhonePe or Google Pay, and enter your UPI PIN to withdraw cash.
Access the cardless cash feature through your bank’s mobile app (such as SBI YONO or HDFC Bank app), enter the withdrawal amount, and use the OTP or PIN generated to collect cash at the ATM.
Opt for OTP-based withdrawal at select ATMs by entering your registered mobile number and the one-time password sent to your phone to complete the transaction.
Visit your nearest bank branch and fill out a withdrawal slip, presenting a valid ID proof to receive cash directly from the counter.
What Is An ATM?
An Automated Teller Machine (ATM) is a round-the-clock electronic banking kiosk that allows customers to carry out essential financial transactions without visiting a bank counter. Using a debit or credit card along with a Personal Identification Number (PIN), users can withdraw cash, deposit money, check account balances, and transfer funds quickly and securely at any time.
