Nationwide Bank Strike September 28-30: The State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an advisory urging customers to complete essential branch-related transactions in advance ahead of a three-day nationwide bank strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU). The strike is scheduled to take place from September 28 to September 30. As September 26 and 27 fall on a Saturday and Sunday, customers could face limited access to regular branch operations for up to five consecutive days.

According to a report by news agency IANS, SBI advised customers to complete transactions requiring in-person visits, staff assistance, or document verification before the strike begins, as branch operations may be impacted depending on employee participation levels.

The proposed strike is part of an ongoing agitation announced by the UFBU to press for key demands.

While physical branch channels could face severe delays or disruptions, alternate service channels will remain operational during the strike period.

  • SBI YONO, internet banking, mobile banking, and UPI services will remain operational for instant fund transfers and routine transactions.
  • ATMs and Automated Deposit and Withdrawal Machines (ADWMs) will remain operational for cash withdrawals and deposits.
  • Customer Service Points (CSPs) will also remain open to assist with select basic retail banking activities.
