Akshaya Tritiya 2026: Most people assume gold is always yellow. However, from pink to white, gold today comes in multiple hues, each with distinct properties, pricing, and appeal. With Akshaya Tritiya on April 19, a key question for buyers is not just what to buy, but which type of gold - yellow, white, or pink, offers the right balance of cost, durability, and style.

What Is Pink Gold?

Pink gold is also known as rose gold. Its pink colour comes from the copper added to the gold, along with a small amount of silver. Pink gold is most popular in engagement rings, bracelets, and trendy jewellery. It is also in high demand among young people these days.

What Is White Gold?

White gold looks like silver, but it is actually gold. It appears white because it contains metals like palladium, nickel, or zinc. It's also coated with rhodium, giving it a silvery sheen. It is often used in diamond jewellery.

What Is Yellow Gold?

Yellow gold is the same gold we are used to. In addition to 24-karat gold, yellow gold is also mixed with copper and zinc. The purest gold is 24-karat gold.

How Does The Price Vary?

-The prices of yellow and pink gold are roughly the same, and there's not much difference between them.

-Whereas white gold is slightly more expensive than yellow and pink gold.

Most pink and white gold is made from 14-carat (58.3 per cent gold) and 18-carat (75 per cent gold). Higher carats mean higher gold content. This will make it less authentic and more like yellow gold.
