Shares of steel wire manufacturer Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd (GPIL) traded higher in the early trade on Tuesday after the company announced allotment of 13,61,000 equity shares following the conversion of warrants. The metal stock started the session in positive territory at Rs 300.35 as compared to Rs 300.05 on NSE.

The stock jumped further to touch a day's high at Rs 305, up nearly 2 per cent from the last day's closing. However, the stock erased early gain to trade slightly lower amid profit booking. At the time of writing, The company's shares were trading at Rs 297.65, down Rs 2.40 or 0.80 per cent.

According to BSE Analytics, the shares have given multi-fold return in a long time frame. In five years, the stock soared over 650 per cent, while in lats 3 years the stock rosed over 300 per cent. In a year, the scrip escalated over 65 per cent. An last six months, the company's shares jumped nearly 15 per cent. This year till date, the stock inched-up 10 per cent.

Stock Market Today

The domestic equity market is trading higher on the hopes of second round of peace talks between US and Iran. At the time of writing, BSE Sensex was trading at 79,202.03, up 681.73 point or 0.87 per cent. Nifty50 quoted at 24,548.25, up 183.40 points or 0.75 per cent.

The rally is fueled by broad-based buying.

Company Allotes Equity Shares

According to a document filed with the stock exchange, the Stakeholder Relations Committee of the Board of Directors allocated 1,361,000 ordinary shares with a par value of Rs 1 to Meridian Realtech Private Limited (MRPL) after it exercised its option to convert the warrants into an equal number of ordinary shares. The premium of the shares was Rs 244 per share.

The conversion was completed after the payment of the remaining 75% of the issue price, i.e., Rs 183.75 per warrant. According to filing, the total value of this transaction is Rs 250,083,750.
