Entrepreneur and ultra-distance cyclist Kanthi Dutt has crossed the 500-kilometre milestone of his ongoing 750 km Hyderabad-to-Mumbai cycling expedition, marking a significant moment in the seven-day endurance journey aimed at promoting fitness, resilience, and community engagement.
During a scheduled halt in Pune, Dutt connected with the city's runners, cyclists, and fitness enthusiasts at Phoenix Marketcity Pune, where an interactive community fitness session brought together members of the local wellness ecosystem. The endurance expedition, undertaken in association with the Sports Authority of India, reflects Dutt's growing role as a thought leader advocating disciplined, community-driven fitness. As an entrepreneur who has embraced endurance sports, he is using the journey to inspire individuals to adopt consistent physical activity and healthier lifestyle habits.
The expedition also marks the launch of The Fear Project, an initiative designed to build psychological resilience through endurance sport and encourage people to push beyond perceived limits.
Celebrity and Expert Participation
Actor Ayaan Lall, a dear friend of Kanthi Dutt also joined the session and interacted with participants, highlighting the importance of developing consistent fitness habits among young people.
"Fitness does not have to begin with something extreme. When people see journeys like this and take part in activities together, it reminds them that staying active can be simple, enjoyable, and community-driven," Lall said.
The event also featured a conversation between Kanthi Dutt, entrepreneur Devyani Pawar and nutritionist Amita Gadre, focusing on the role of proper nutrition and recovery in endurance sports.
The evening was hosted by Nayandeep Rakshit, a celebrity host , prior with Pink Villa - concluded with an open audience discussion followed by a media interaction.
Community Fitness Interaction in Pune
The Pune interaction saw enthusiastic participation from the city's fitness community. The evening featured a high-energy fitness segment led by the team from Multifit Pune, the official fitness partner for the session.
Participants took part in a lively Zumba workout, along with fun fitness challenges including a plank challenge and a squat challenge, creating an engaging and energetic atmosphere that encouraged movement, participation, and friendly competition.
Speaking about the purpose behind the expedition, Kanthi Dutt said: "Entrepreneurship and endurance sport both demand resilience and consistency. Through this journey, I hope to encourage people to see fitness as a long-term commitment rather than a short-term goal. Small, consistent efforts can create meaningful change in how we approach our health."
Final Leg Towards Mumbai
Having completed the 550 km milestone during his Pune stop, Kanthi Dutt has now begun the final leg of the expedition towards Mumbai, bringing him closer to completing the 750 km endurance challenge. The initiative is supported under CSR by MIC Electronics Ltd and Sai Silks Kalamandir Ltd.
