During the previous hearing, Special Judge Vishal Gogne made strong remarks, stating that a conspiracy was hatched to acquire property in exchange for government jobs, referring to the accused as a “criminal gang.” The court also highlighted the transfer of properties to family members. However, it clarified that framing of charges does not amount to a conviction and that the defense will have a full opportunity to present its case during the trial.

CBI Charge Sheet Under Court Scrutiny

The court examined the charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), noting prima facie serious allegations. It emphasized the need to investigate alleged transactions during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure as Railway Minister. Abnormalities in land transfers and pricing were highlighted, and the court ordered an expedited prosecution sanction process. The next hearing is scheduled for January 29.

Alleged Conspiracy from 2004-200

According to the CBI, the alleged conspiracy took place between 2004 and 2009 when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister. It involves Group-D appointments in several railway zones, with claims that land was transferred prior to employment, often through gift deeds. All these aspects will now be examined thoroughly during the trial.
