Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel Price:  The Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel has been launched in India at Rs 1.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The newly launched FZ Flex Fuel can run on ethanol blends of up to E85. Notably, this is the fourth flex-flex motorcycle in the country after Hero HF Deluxe, Hero Splendor, and Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 FFV. Let’s take a look at the features and engine specifications of the newly launched Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel.

Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel: Design & Hardware

The Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel features a modern sporty design. It features the same set of LED headlamps that we have seen on the Yamaha FZ Rave. Additionally, the fuel tank, faux air vents, and a single-piece seat are also identical to the FZ Rave model, which was launched last year. The suspension duty is handled by telescopic forks at the front, along with a monoshock suspension at the rear, and the braking duty is handled by dual-disc brakes with a single-channel ABS. The FZ Flex Fuel is available solely in a Metallic Black colour, and it will be initially offered in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.

Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel: Engine Specs

The Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel is powered by the same 149cc fuel-injected single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which is paired with a 5-speed transmission. The engine comes with several upgrades that enable it to run on higher ethanol blends. The mill powering the FZ flex fuel generates 11.7 hp and 12.8 Nm of torque. When compared to the standard 149cc engine, the unit on the flex fuel generates 0.7 hp and 0.5 Nm less.

  • The Yamaha Flex Fuel draws power from a 149cc single-cylinder fuel-injected air-cooled engine
  • The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, and it can run on ethanol blends of up to E85
  • When compared to the standard 149cc engine powering the standard FZ lineup, the flex fuel mill generates 0.7 hp and 0.5 Nm less
  • The lower power and torque output can be attributed to the lower energy density of ethanol
