2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift India: The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift has been unveiled in India recently. The Taigun facelift 2026 secured a 5-star safety rating in crash tests organised by Global NCAP (GNCAP). The new Taigun will rival the likes of the Skoda Kushaq, Tata Sierra, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, and more such mid-size SUVs in the Indian market. 2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Safety Ratings & Features
As informed earlier, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift has secured a 5-star safety rating in GNCAP. Notably, the brand has not yet revealed the safety ratings of the Taigun facelift. As for the previous generation model, it had secured 92.47 in terms of Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). Whereas the Child Occupant Protection (COP) score for the SUV stands at 91.84 per cent. In terms of the vulnerable road users, the SUV has scored 54.14 per cent. The Volkswagen Taigun facelift comes equipped with safety features such as 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control, all-wheel disc brakes, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill-hold assist, traction control, a rear-view camera, and parking sensors on the front and rear.

2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Engine
The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift 2026 retains engine options offered with previous generation models. The SUV is still powered by either a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine or a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. However, the brand has introduced a new, 8-speed torque converter gearbox. The 1.0-litre can now be paired with a choice of either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed torque converter gearbox, whereas the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine is exclusively available with the 7-speed DCT gearbox. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol maxes out at 115 PS and 178 Nm, whereas the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine can generate a peak power and torque output of 150 PS and 250 Nm, respectively.
