Electric Car Sales In India: VinFast, the Vietnamese electric car manufacturer, has recently surpassed Hyundai and Maruti to secure the position of the fourth-largest electric car manufacturer in India. The brand offers a total of 3 cars in the country: VinFast VF6, VinFast VF7, and the recently launched VinFast VF MPV7.
VinFast & Electric Car Sales India
In March 2026, the brand sold a total of 1,231 electric cars and secured the position of the fourth-largest electric car maker in the country, leaving behind Hyundai and Maruti. Notably, the brand has sold a total of 2,840 units of electric cars, whereas Maruti has sold a total of 2,667, and Hyundai managed to sell a total of 1,707 units. Tata is still at the top with sales of a total of 31,604 units, followed by Mahindra and MG with sales of 18,153 and 19,036 units, respectively.

VinFast VF6: Features & Range
The VinFast VF6 comes equipped with some of the most premium and advanced technological features, such as vegan leather upholstery, a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic fixed glass roof, an 8-way powered driver's seat, ventilated front seats, reclinable rear seats, dual-zone climate control, connected car tech, piano-inspired gear selector (with 'Drive' mode), and a 90W USB port. The VF 6 gets a 59.6kWh battery, which is paired with a front axle-mounted motor that generates 201bhp. The WLTP range is capped at 480km, while the ARAI figure is capped at 468km, once fully charged.

VinFast VF7: Features & Range
The VinFast VF7 comes equipped with the same set of features as the VinFast VF6. However, the VF 7 is available in two battery configurations: 59.6kWh and 70.8kWh LFP. It supports both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive 345bhp systems. The VF 7 FWD has a WLTP claimed range of 450km, while the AWD yields 431km. Whereas the ARAI-certified range of the VF 7 stands at 532km, once fully charged.

VinFast VF MPV7: Range & Features
The VinFast VF MPV 7 has been launched in India with prices starting from Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The VinFast VF MPV 7 comes equipped with a sculpted bonnet, a sleek LED DRL that runs across the width of the bonnet, vertically positioned LED headlamps, air vents on the front bumper, 19-inch alloy wheels, sculpted doors, and a thin black body cladding, connecting LED taillight and a split taillamp setup. The VinFast VF MPV 7 features a 10.1-inch centrally positioned touchscreen infotainment system, roof-mounted AC vents and controls at the rear, type-A and type-C USB ports, and more. The VinFast VF MPV7 draws its power from a 60.13 kWh battery pack, and it has an NEDC claimed range of up to 517 kilometres.
