TVS OMC 2026: The leading two-wheeler manufacturer TVS has been hitting the headlines lately. From adding tech-loaded commuter offerings to its lineup to confirming the 1000cc Norton Manx R for Indian customers, the company is investing every effort to remain at the top. Despite ruling multiple segments for years, the company is leaving no stone unturned to promote motorsports culture in India as well. And, the TVS India One Make Championship (OMC) is a pure example of the same.
In case you are not aware, TVS Racing is considered India’s first factory racing team. It was founded in 1982 and has won a long list of titles across multiple categories, including road racing, rallying, and supercross formats. When it comes to OMC, it is being operated under the TVS Racing vertical. The sole purpose of the initiative is to nurture the next generation of racing talent in the country, giving them the opportunity to become complete professionals in the sport.
Calm Before The Storm
Recently, the brand invited us to be a part of its prestigious OMC 2026 Training & Selection Program. The sole purpose of the event was simple, get on the challenging Madras International Circuit (MIC) racing track in Chennai and experience the pure adrenaline rush. Being in the media industry for years, I have been privileged enough to experience the track before. This time, however, we decided to send one of my team members, Shubir Mandal. Carrying the same passion for biking culture as I do, he was super excited to ride the race-spec version of the TVS Apache RTR 310.
I was in constant touch with Mandal, trying to guide him with my previous experience. However, the champ sounded pretty confident and excited throughout, and the credit goes to his love for the sport. The final selection round was held between May 15 and May 17, 2026, at the Madras International Circuit (MIC), Chennai. Over 120 participants took part in the program across multiple categories, including Women, Media, Rookie, Electric, and TVS Apache RR310 Expert categories.

Reality Check
Unfortunately, he was not able to make it to the final round and somehow secured the 18th position with a lap time of 2.44 minutes. Despite not being selected, he returned with a lot of learnings, became a better version of himself, understood the motorcycle more deeply, and moved one step closer to his future goals. As we were chatting about the track and the bike, he said, “I was chasing the experience, not the podium or the first spot.” With this sentence, he clearly expressed that with all the learnings, tips, and tricks shared by the professionals, he would surely come back stronger and go even faster.

All About TVS India One Make Championship 2026
Amid all the chaos on the track, this season was a bit special as TVS Apache celebrated 20 years of racing-inspired performance engineering, driven by TVS Racing’s ‘Track to Road’ philosophy. The officials said that the learnings from the racetrack continue to shape not only motorcycle development, but also the training and preparation of riders for professional motorsport competition.
In addition, the brand also stated that the initiative continues to focus on identifying the young racing talent from across country, pushing wider participation from women and new-age riders. This will remove the taboo about the racing culture and strengthening India’s grassroots motorsport ecosystem through professional structured training and mentorship under TVS Racing experts.
