Tesla Car:  Elon Musk-led Tesla is reportedly working on a new entry-level SUV. As per a report by Reuters, the upcoming SUV from Tesla is expected to undercut the brand’s current most affordable model, the Tesla Model 3. The Model 3 is priced at USD 37,000 (approximately Rs 34.35 lakh), and the upcoming model is expected to undercut it. Let’s take a look at what we know about the upcoming Tesla car.

Upcoming Tesla Car: A New Model

Tesla’s upcoming car is expected to be a completely new model, and not another variant of the brand’s existing portfolio. As per the report, the upcoming Tesla SUV is expected to be around 4.3 metres long. The report further states that the upcoming Tesla SUV will be initially manufactured at the brand’s Shanghai Plant, and the production will be expanded to Europe and the US later.

Upcoming Tesla Car: What To Expect?

People familiar with the development also shared that the brand is planning to cut down the costs of parts, and it might use a smaller battery for the upcoming Tesla car. It means that the upcoming Tesla car will also offer a smaller driving range than the brand’s other models. Additionally, the brand is also expected to make this car lighter than its other models, and it will have a weight of around 1500 kilograms.

Upcoming Tesla Car: Launch Timeline?

The report also states that the brand has recently reached out to some suppliers in recent weeks regarding the upcoming Tesla car. This suggests that the car’s production is unlikely to begin this year, and the launch timeline will be shared at a later stage. It is worth mentioning that the brand has recently pulled the plug on its Model S and Model X models.
