PM Modi Security Convoy:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently called to include electric cars in his security convoy. The prime minister has also reduced the size of his security convoy significantly. Amid disruption in the global fuel supply chain and rising global crude oil costs, the PM has also urged citizens to reduce fuel consumption. The Indian electric car market has also grown significantly in recent years, and here are the top Indian electric cars that can become a part of the prime minister’s security convoy.

Mahindra XEV 9E

The Mahindra XEV 9E is the brand’s flagship electric SUV, and it is also one of the most popular electric cars in the country. The XEV 9E has a coupe-SUV styling, and it is available with options of either a 59 kWh battery pack or a 79 kWh battery pack. While the smaller battery pack has an ARAI-claimed range of 542 Km, the larger battery pack has an ARAI-claimed range of 656 kilometres, once fully charged. The Mahindra XEV 9E comes equipped with a triple-screen setup, and each one of the screens has a size of 12.3 inches. The electric SUV by Mahindra also comes equipped with a heads-up display, wireless charging, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and a level-2 ADAS suite.

Tata Harrier EV

The Tata Harrier EV can also become a part of the prime minister’s convoy. The Tata Harrier EV comes equipped with options of a 75 kWh and 65 kWh battery, and has an ARAI claimed range of 627 kilometres in a single charge. However, the brand claims that the Harrier EV can deliver a real-world range of up to 505 Km in a single charge. The brand claims that consumers can charge the Harrier EV from 20-80 per cent in just 25 minutes using the 120 kW DC fast charger. This option provides you with up to 250 kilometres of range in just 15 minutes. In terms of features, the Harrier EV comes equipped with features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Immersive Audio, vehicle summon mode, a 14.5-inch Harman Display with Samsung Neo QLED, ADAS Level 2 with 22 advanced features, India’s first 540 Degree view, and electric IRVM.

Mahindra XEV 9S

The Mahindra XEV 9S is the electric iteration of the Mahindra XUV700. The Mahindra XEV 9S is available with three battery packs: a 59 kWh, a 70 kWh, and a 79 kWh. The XEV 9S has a claimed range of up to 679 kilometres, once fully charged. The Mahindra XEV 9S comes equipped with a panoramic skyroof, ventilated front seats, an auto defogger for the rear windshield, an auto-dimming IRVM, a dual-zone automatic temperature control system, sliding seats on the second row with multi-step recline, rear wiper and washer, push button start, automatic headlamps and wipers, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, and more.
