Which Indian City Has The Most Expensive Petrol:  The US-Iran war finally came to an end as both of the countries agreed on a deal. However, due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the global crude oil prices increased significantly. The petrol and diesel prices in India were hiked four times in the last month. Currently, while petrol prices are trading over Rs 100 per litre, diesel is trading above Rs 95 per litre in the country. Notably, diesel and petrol prices vary depending on the states in India. Do you know which Indian city has the most expensive petrol prices?

Petrol And Diesel Prices: How prices Are Decided?

The petrol and diesel prices are decided based on several factors, including global crude oil prices, excise duty, dealer commission, and Value Added Tax (VAT) levied by state governments. Due to the VAT implications, the petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state in India. While some states levy low VAT, some other state governments implement higher VAT on petrol and diesel prices. This is the reason why petrol prices are not similar even in the metro cities of the country.
