Next-Generation Toyota Hilux 2026:  The ninth-generation model of the popular pickup truck, the Toyota Hilux, has been launched in India with prices starting from Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hilux was introduced in India in 2022, and it has remained one of the most popular lifestyle pickup trucks in the Indian market. The ninth-generation Hilux has received a slew of changes in terms of design and features; let’s take a look.

Next-Generation Toyota Hilux: Design

The Toyota Hilux 2026 features a completely new design language. It gets an upright stance with sleek LED DRLs and LED headlights at the front that are connected by a black applique with Toyota badging. The front fascia also comprises a body-coloured grille with a honeycomb pattern, faux trapezoidal air vents, large air vents lower on the bumper, and a prominent silver skid plate. On the sides, it features a black ORVM, Hilux badging, large windows, a running board, black pull-out-type door handles, and thick black body cladding. On the rear, it features a tailgate with large Toyota Badging and a pull-type handle with Hilux written on it. The pickup by Toyota also features C-shaped LED taillights that extend to the sides, a large black rear bumper, and parking sensors.

Next-Generation Toyota Hilux: Interior & Features

Inside the cabin, the next-generation Toyota Hilux features a new dashboard with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a larger, 12.3-inch touchscreen-based infotainment system. Notably, the global-spec ninth-generation model of the Hilux features a larger 12.3-inch driver’s display too. The new Hilux also has a new three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls. In terms of features, it gets electrically powered and ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an 8-speaker audio system, three drive modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport), a PM 2.5 air filter, a 360-degree camera, and more. It is worth mentioning that the India-spec model also misses out on ADAS functionality that is available with the global-spec model.

Next-Generation Toyota Hilux: Engine Specs

The next-generation Toyota Hilux 2026 retains its 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which is paired with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. The engine can generate a peak power and torque output of 204 hp and 500 Nm, respectively. While the previous generation model was sold exclusively with a 4x4 configuration, the brand has now also added a new Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) 4x2 configuration model.
