New Hyundai i20: The Hyundai i20 is one of the most popular premium hatchbacks in the country. The i20 was introduced in the country in 2008, and it has remained popular in the Indian market ever since. The current generation of the i20 was introduced in 2020 in the country. The brand now seems to be planning to launch the next generation of its premium hatchback offering. A prototype was recently spied in Scandinavia, and it was the first time that a test mule of the next-gen Hyundai i20 was spied. We expect that the brand might launch the next-generation i20 by the end of this year or in early 2027.
Next-Gen Hyundai i20 Interior Spied
As informed earlier, the prototype of the Next-Gen Hyundai i20 was spied testing in Scandinavia. Several prototypes of the next-gen Hyundai i20 have been spied during the testing phase in India and overseas. However, the recent spy shots mark the first time that the next-gen Hyundai i20 interior has been spied. The spy shots suggest that the next-gen Hyundai i20 might feature a curved dual-display setup inside the cabin with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a similarly sized digital instrument cluster. A redesigned dashboard and more premium upholstery materials are also anticipated. We also expect the upcoming next-gen Hyundai i20 to feature a Level 2 ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, a dash cam, and more to enhance occupant safety.

Next-Gen Hyundai i20: Design
The prototype of the next-gen Hyundai i20 was heavily disguised when it was snapped. However, it reveals several key details such as a more boxy contour, and a design similar to the brand’s latest design philosophy. Additionally, we anticipate it to feature a full-width LED light bar, sleek headlamps, and a connected taillight setup at the rear. The front fascia is expected to feature a larger rectangular grille, a redesigned bumper with updated air dams, and the side profile is expected to receive a fresh set of alloy wheels.

Next-Gen Hyundai i20: Engine Specs
While the next-gen Hyundai i20 is expected to receive massive exterior and interior changes, it will likely retain the same powertrain options as the current model on sale. However, the brand is expected to introduce a hybrid powertrain for the International markets. In India, we expect the next-gen Hyundai i20 to continue drawing power from either a 1.2-litre petrol engine or a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine offered with the N-line variant.
