Maruti Suzuki Upcoming Cars:  Maruti Suzuki is preparing to expand its product portfolio across SUVs, electric vehicles, hybrids, and other powertrain technologies in the coming years, and the brand is set to enter a significant phase of transformation. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, says the company has a clear roadmap for the next five years and is working towards creating products that address the evolving needs of Indian customers.

7 New SUVs In The Coming 5 Years

Speaking to Jagran at the launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Banerjee emphasised that Maruti Suzuki’s strategy is not about moving away from any particular segment, but about building a portfolio that caters to diverse customer requirements. The company plans to introduce seven new SUVs over the next five years, while continuing to strengthen its presence in other segments. Maruti is also pursuing a multi-powertrain strategy, with CNG, hybrids and EVs expected to coexist as India transitions towards cleaner mobility.

Baleno & Premium Hatchback Segment

The recently launched 2026 Baleno underlines the brand’s approach of adding technology and premium features while retaining its core strengths. The new Baleno gets a refreshed design, the new Z12E engine and, notably, first-in-segment Level 2 ADAS with radar and camera technology. It also gets ventilated front seats, a premium Clarion sound system and a host of other upgrades. Banerjee highlighted that Baleno continues to command a strong position in the premium hatchback segment, selling around 16,500 units a month.

Five New EVs Over 5 Years

Maruti’s recent product activity also seems to be in line with the brand’s future strategy. The 2026 Brezza strengthens the company’s position in the highly competitive compact-SUV space, while the e Vitara marks Maruti Suzuki’s entry into India’s mainstream electric SUV market. The company has also been preparing for further EV expansion, with a stated roadmap of five EV models over five years.

Maruti Suzuki & Future

The larger picture paints Maruti Suzuki evolving beyond its traditional small-car dominance. With significant investments, new manufacturing capacity, and a wider portfolio, the company appears to be preparing for a market where customers will increasingly demand SUVs, premium features, electrification, and multiple powertrain choices, without compromising on affordability and ownership costs.
