MG Electric Car Sales:  The electric car market in India has skyrocketed in recent years. JSW MG Motors has recently become the third-largest electric car manufacturer in the country, as per the sales data from the first 4 months of 2026. The brand has established itself as a major player in the electric car market of the country, at a time when the competition is also rapidly increasing. Let’s take a look at the brand’s electric car sales, along with its most popular model in the country.

MG Electric Car Sales 2024

The brand introduced its first electric car, the MG ZS EV, in the country in 2020, and it was the only electric car on sale till 2023, when the MG Comet EV was launched in India. However, the brand introduced the BaaS variant of the Comet EV in 2024, and it also launched the Windsor EV in the country. The launch of the Windsor EV, along with the introduction of the BaaS variant of the Comet EV, further pushed the sales of MG electric cars, and the brand managed to sell a total of 28,882 units of EVs in 2024.

MG Electric Car Sales In 2025 & 2026

In 2025, the brand introduced the MG M9 luxury electric MPV, along with the MG Cyberster, in the country. Thanks to the introduction of the MG M9 and MG Cyberster, and the strong performance of the MG Windsor EV, the brand clocked sales of a total of 61,171 units of electric cars in 2025. This means that the brand recorded growth of 111 per cent. In the first 4 months of 2025 (January to April), the brand sold a total of 16,220 units of EVs in the country. In the first 4 months of 2026, the brand sold a total of 17,539 units and registered growth of 9 per cent.

The Brand’s Most Popular Model

The MG Windsor EV is the brand’s most popular electric car in the country. In 2025, the MG Windsor was the bestselling electric car. Out of a total of 61,171 units that the brand sold in 2025, 46,735 units were of the MG Windsor EV, which accounts for a 76 per cent share. The MG Windsor is available in a total of 6 main variants: Excite, Exclusive, Essence, Exclusive Pro, Essence Pro, and Inspire. The MG Windsor is available with two options on offer: a 37.9 kWh battery pack and a 52.9 kWh battery pack. While the trims with the smaller 37.9 kWh battery have a claimed range of 332 km, the trims with the bigger 52.9 kWh battery have a claimed range of up to 449 km, once charged completely.
