Mercedes-Benz GLA Electric:  Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the third-generation model of its popular SUV, the Mercedes-Benz GLA, and it is for the first time that the brand has introduced the nameplate with an all-electric version. The GLA EV will be offered in three trims: 250, 250+, and 350, and it is based on the brand’s MMA platform. While the GLA is currently offered as an all-electric model, its mild-hybrid variant is expected to debut in 2027. Let’s take a look at the features, range, and specs of the newly unveiled Mercedes-Benz GLA EV.

Mercedes-Benz GLA EV: Exterior

The Mercedes-Benz GLA EV follows the same styling as the brand’s new generation models. The front fascia comprises a large grille with multiple horizontal LED elements and an illuminated grille surround. It also features three-pointed star LED DRLs, and the front bumper has two black inserts at each end. On the sides, the GLA EV features dual-tone alloy wheels, and the size ranges from 18 to 20 inches. It also gets gloss black cladding, blacked-out roof rails, and flush-type door handles. At the rear, it features wraparound taillights with the same tristar signature DRL, and a gloss black rear bumper.

Mercedes-Benz GLA EV: Interior

The Mercedes-Benz GLA EV comes equipped with a slew of advanced tech features. The standard version features a dual display setup, whereas customers can opt for the brand’s MBUX superscreen triple display setup that comprises a 10.25-inch driver’s display, a 14-inch infotainment screen, and a 14-inch passenger display. It also features a new three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, an all-black theme with silver accents, a 16-speaker Burmester audio system, a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, automatic parking assist, and a 360-degree camera.

Mercedes-Benz GLA EV: Range & Specs

The Mercedes-Benz GLA EV will be offered with the option of either a 58 kWh or an 85 kWh battery pack. The base-spec 250 trim is powered by the smaller battery pack, which is paired with a rear-axle-mounted electric motor, and it can generate a peak power and torque output of 224 hp and 335 nm, respectively. The 250 variant has a WLTP-claimed range of 447 kilometres.

The 250+ and 350 trims will be powered by the same 85 kWh battery pack. However, the 250+ trim gets a rear-axle-mounted motor capable of generating 272 hp and 335 Nm of torque, and the claimed range for the variant stands at 657 kilometres. The 350 trim, on the other hand, is powered by a dual-electric motor setup, which can generate peak power and torque output of 354 hp and 515 Nm, respectively. The 350 trim also has a claimed range of 657 kilometres. The 350 trim of the GLA EV can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, and it has a top speed of 210 kilometres per hour.
