Mahindra XUV 7XO E85 Spied: The Mahindra XUV 7XO was recently launched in India on January 5, 2026. The Indian government recently released a draft for recognising E85 and E100 fuel standards in India. The manufacturers seem to be preparing for the ‘future-fuel’, and a Mahindra XUV 7XO test mule was recently spied on the Indian roads. But is it really the E85 or E100 flex-fuel variant of the SUV? Here’s what we can expect.
Mahindra XUV 7XO Launched
As mentioned earlier, the Mahindra XUV 7XO was launched in India on January 5, 2026. What is the reason behind repeating the same point? Well, the Mahindra XUV 7XO is essentially the renamed ‘Mahindra XUV 700 Facelift’. This means that the brand is certainly not planning any facelift or a new generation model of the SUV. Essentially, because the latest generation model or the facelift was launched just months ago.

Mahindra XUV 7XO Spied:Flex-Fuel Variant
The Mahindra XUV 7XO spied during testing was heavily disguised. Moreover, it cannot be confirmed whether the spied test mule was the Flex-Fuel variant of the SUV, as nothing solid was found. However, we have already ruled out that the launch of a facelift or a new generation model is not possible. Additionally, the test mule has been spied only days after the Indian government released a draft for E85 and E100 fuel standards. This highly suggests that the brand might be testing the Mahindra XUV 7XO flex-fuel variant.

Mahindra XUV 7XO Spied: Is It Hybrid?
Another possibility can be that the brand is planning to launch the hybrid variant of the Mahindra XUV 7XO. It makes sense as the Toyota Innova Hycross is the only rival of the Mahindra XUV 7XO, which comes with a hybrid powertrain, but it is an MPV. However, car manufacturers, including Kia and Maruti/Toyota, are planning to soon launch their Hybrid three-row SUVs. Thus, the brand might be planning to equip the Mahindra XUV 7XO with a Hybrid powertrain.
