Italian Police Supercars List:  The Lamborghini Temerario has become the fifth car by the brand to be inducted by the Italian State Police. The Temerario Polizia is also part of the collaboration between Lamborghini and the Italian State Police that began in 2004. The Temerario is priced from Rs 6 crore ex-showroom onwards in the Indian market, and it packs 907 hp and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain.

Lamborghini Temerario Engine & Performance

Engine

The Lamborghini Temerario is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain comprising three electric motors. The engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). Two of the three electric motors are placed on each of the front axles, whereas one is placed at the rear.

Performance

The Temerario is the successor to the Lamborghini Huracan, and it is the second super sports model in the brand’s plug-in hybrid (PHEV) lineup. The powertrain on the Temerario enables it to:

  • Generate a peak power output of 907 hp
  • Generate a maximum torque output of 800 Nm
  • Sprint from 0-100 km/h in 2.7 seconds
  • Achieve a top speed of 343 km/h

Lamborghini & Italian Police

As mentioned earlier, the Lamborghini Temerario is the fifth car inducted by the Italian State Police, and it is part of the collaboration between the state police and the brand. The Italian State Police will use it under the special-service fleet for emergency transport of organs and medical supplies. In total, 6 Lamborghini vehicles have joined the fleet of the Italian Police over the last 20 years. Here are the other Lamborghini models that joined the special service fleet of the Italian Police:

  • Lamborghini Gallardo:  The Gallardo was the first car inducted by the Italian Police in 2004. The Gallardo, in its first-generation guise, was packed with a 5-litre Naturally Aspirated V10 engine, and it could generate up to 530 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The Lamborghini Gallardo was priced at Rs 3.17 crore (ex-showroom) in India.
  • Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4:  The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 was the second car to join the special service fleet of the Italian Police. The Gallardo LP 560-4 was powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine that could generate a peak power and torque output of 560 hp and 540 Nm of torque. It was priced at Rs 3.88 crore, ex-showroom in India.
  • Lamborghini Huracán:  The predecessor of the Lamborghini Temerario, the Lamborghini Huracán was the brand’s third model to be featured in the Italian Police’s special service fleet. The Huracán was propelled by a 5.2-litre V10 engine that generated 610 hp and 600 Nm of torque. The Huracán was priced at Rs 5.99 crore, ex-showroom in India.
  • Lamborghini Urus Performante:  The Lamborghini Urus Performante is one of the world’s most powerful SUVs. The Urus Performante is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that can churn out 666CV and 850 Nm of torque. The Urus Performante is priced at Rs 4.22 crore, ex-showroom in India.
