KTM 490 Adventure Spied: A prototype of the KTM 490 Adventure was spied testing recently overseas. Once launched, the brand is also expected to launch the motorcycle in the Indian market. It could become one of the most popular middle-weight motorcycles in the country, and it will be positioned above the KTM 390 Adventure range. The KTM 490 Adventure is expected to rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, BMW F 450 GS, and Honda NX500.
KTM 490 Adventure: Design & Hardware
The test mule of the KTM 490 Adventure was spied with a design that looks largely inspired by its smaller sibling, the KTM 390 Adventure. The prototype was spied with a large windscreen at the front, and it features vertically placed projector-based LED headlights. Additionally, a muscular tank, aggressive body panels, the brand’s signature steel trellis frame, a one-piece seat, upswept exhaust, luggage-friendly grab handlebars, and dual-purpose spoke wheels were also spied on the prototype.

KTM 490 Adventure: Features
As per reports, the motorcycle is expected to feature USD forks at the front, along with a monoshock suspension setup at the rear. The motorcycle is expected to feature single-disc braking at the front and rear, and it is also expected to come equipped with dual-channel ABS. Additionally, the brand is also expected to equip the motorcycle with advanced safety features such as cornering ABS, Traction Control, switchable ABS, and more. The motorcycle is also expected to feature a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity.

KTM 490 Adventure: Engine
The KTM 490 Adventure is expected to be powered by an all-new twin-cylinder engine. As per reports, the bike is expected to feature a 490cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, which will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox, and the bike might also feature a semi-automatic clutch technology, such as BMW ERC (Easy Ride Clutch) or E-Clutch offered in the BMW F 450 GS and Honda NX500, respectively. The engine is expected to generate a peak power output of up to 60 bhp.
