KTM 390 Adventure R India Launch: KTM seems to be preparing to bring the new 390 Adventure R to the Indian market. The brand has yet to announce the launch date, but a market report indicates that the more off-road-oriented R variant could be introduced in January next year. Bookings for the same are expected to begin soon, with deliveries to follow in early 2026. Here's what you need to know about the bike ahead of the upcoming launch:
KTM 390 Adventure R: Engine, Suspension, Wheels
The familiar 398.6cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 45bhp at 8,500rpm and 39Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm will be offered. However, the more off-road-focused version will get longer travel suspension (230mm at both ends), thanks to WP Apex components, higher ground clearance (272mm versus the 390 Adventure S' 237mm), and taller seat height (870mm compared to the standard version's 830mm).
The 390 Adventure R can also be differentiated in terms of wheel size. The international-spec R variant is fitted with a 21/18-inch (F/R) spoke wheel setup with Mitas Enduro Trail E07+ tyres, as compared to a 21/17-inch combination. The kerb weight is on the lower side, with the R standing at 176kg, making it 6kg lighter than the standard model. The bike can hold up to 14 litres of fuel.
KTM 390 Adventure R: Price
Other details, including pricing, are still awaited. But expect the upcoming bike's price in the range of Rs 3.80 lakh to Rs 4.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike will join the 390 Adventure (Rs 3.95 lakh) and the X (Rs 3.26 lakh) in the company's mid-size ADV lineup upon arrival here.
