Bihar EV Policy 2026: The Bihar government has announced incentives of up to Rs 1 lakh to women buying electric four-wheelers in the state. The move is a part of the government’s efforts to enhance green mobility and women's empowerment in the state. The government is aiming to ensure that 30 per cent of all new vehicle registrations in the state are electric by 2030.
Bihar EV Policy 2026: Subsidies
The Bihar EV Policy 2026 will provide a direct subsidy of Rs 1 lakh to women buying electric our wheelers in the state. The policy will also provide a subsidy of Rs 12,000 to women for buying an electric two-wheeler. It is worth mentioning that women from the general category will receive a subsidy of Rs 10,000, whereas SC/ST beneficiaries will receive a subsidy of Rs 12,000. The government will also offer a subsidy of up to Rs 50,000 on electric three-wheelers to beneficiaries from the general category, while SC/ST beneficiaries will receive a subsidy of up to Rs 60,000 on the purchase of new electric three-wheelers.

Bihar EV Policy 2026: Direct Benefit Transfer
The Bihar EV Policy 2026 will provide incentives through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) on the purchase and registration of commercial electric vehicles, non-commercial four-wheelers exclusively for women, and two-wheelers for women and other beneficiaries. The government is aiming to increase the adoption of electric vehicles in the state through the EV policy 2026.

Bihar EV Policy 2026: Charging Stations
The Bihar EV Policy 2026 will also provide a waiver of up to 50 per cent on the motor vehicle tax on electric vehicles purchased and registered in the country. EV buyers in the state will also enjoy additional benefits offered by the central government’s vehicle scrappage policy. Moreover, the government will also provide financial assistance for setting up new EV charging stations in the state.
