Ather EL Platform Affordable Scooter: Ather Energy, not long ago, filed a design patent for the production-spec EL platform-based electric scooter, which appears similar to the concept two-wheeler showcased at the Bengaluru-based company's Community Day 2025. It is too soon to tell if and when the company will bring this patented product to our market, but even if it plans to, the e-scooter will not arrive before the second half of next year. Here's a look at what to expect in terms of design, battery specs and more.
Ather EL Platform-based Electric Scooter: Design
The recently patented electric scooter doesn't stray too far from the EL01 concept vehicle, except that the former features rear-view mirrors. Overall, it has a simple, family-oriented design with clean lines. The integrated U-shaped LED DRL on the front apron and the conventional LED headlamp look neat. The scooter also boasts a flat footboard and a wide seat.
Ather EL Platform-based Electric Scooter: Battery Specs And Features
Based on Ather's EL modular platform, the new electric scooter is expected to be offered with multiple battery sizes and a swingarm-mounted electric scooter. A 14/12-inch alloy wheel setup should be carried over from the EL01 concept vehicle. Ather could also offer a 7.0-inch TFT display, an advanced electronic braking system, and AtherStack 7.0 features such as cruise control, pothole alerts, and crawl control.
Ather EL Platform-based Electric Scooter: Price
With a steel unibody frame, the EL platform is engineered to produce cost-effective e-scooters. Therefore, we expect this e-scooter to be priced in the Rs 90,000-Rs 1 lakh bracket, taking on the likes of the TVS Orbiter.
