The Resident Evil Requiem expansion was officially confirmed by Capcom. The survival horror game which was released on February 27 has already made the rounds, selling more than 5 million copies within days of launch. Game director Koshi Nakanishi announced the news, revealing that extra story content has been released for Requiem's world. A release date hasn’t been revealed yet, but Capcom notes the expansion will take time to finish.
Resident Evil Requiem Story DLC in Development
The news was delivered in a video message posted by Resident Evil and Capcom on the social media channels of Koshi Nakanishi. In the video, the game director states that the dev team is creating more content for the survival horror title.

“We are planning to make extra story content! In this story, we will delve deeper into the world of Requiem. We're hard at work on it now. It will take some time, so we ask for your patience and hope you'll look forward to it. Thank you again for all your support,” he said.

During the video, Nakanishi teased different humorous scenarios for the game by flipping through photos that jokingly hinted at possible alternate versions before confirming the upcoming story expansion.
More Updates Coming to Resident Evil Requiem
Along with the story DLC, Capcom is also planning several additional updates for the game.
Upcoming additions include:
- Photo Mode, a feature widely requested by fans
- A new mini game scheduled to arrive in May
- Continued bug fixes and performance improvements
Nakanishi also thanked players for their support and confirmed that the development team will continue improving the game.

“On behalf of the development team, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude. Thank you very much! We released an update the other day to fix a variety of issues, and we will continue to address any other bugs and performance issues,” Nakanishi said. “We hope to continue providing support for Resident Evil Requiem to live up to its positive reception,” he added.
Resident Evil Requiem Launch and Success
Resident Evil Requiem launched on PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27. The game marks the return of Leon S. Kennedy and blends survival horror with action gameplay.
The title has already become a major critical and commercial success. Capcom confirmed that the game sold over 5 million copies within days of release. It has also become the highest user-rated game of all time on Metacritic.
