Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are one of the most adored B-town couples. Recently, Neelam Kothari disclosed a little-known secret behind Bollywood’s most iconic love story. She revealed that she was the reason behind their romance. She said this on Indian Idol stage during its 'Season of Love' celebrations. "A few months back Shah Rukh was telling me, ‘You know Neelam, one of the reasons Gauri and I got married is because of you.’"
She said, "He was telling me that when I was doing films, he was a big fan, and Gauri was also a big fan. So both of them used to watch my films together. So that’s how the romance started. They went to watch Neelam’s film together, and I did not know that." Neelam further added, "So one of the reasons Shah Rukh and Gauri are together is because of me."
Neelam smiled as she candidly admitted that she had no idea her films had unknowingly played the role of a cupid in what would go on to become one of the most iconic real-life love stories in Indian cinema. Reflecting on the revelation, she expressed surprise at how her on-screen work became an unexpected bridge between two people, never imagining at the time that her movies would have such a lasting and personal impact beyond the screen.
