India’s Next Match: As Team India's delirious celebrations over their T20 World Cup victory begin to subside, the focus now shifts to the next challenge: a home Test series against Afghanistan.

But before the series, the focus for now will be on the T20 format as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is just around the corner, kicking off on March 28 and wrapping up with the final on May 31.

India's international cricket drought will conclude in June 2026, with a highly anticipated series against Afghanistan.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced that India will host Afghanistan for a multi-Test series in June 2026, marking a transformation in gears from the white-ball brilliance of the T20 World Cup to the red-ball grind of Test cricket.

Afghanistan tour kicks off with a single Test match, followed by a three-match ODI series, giving fans a glimpse of India's cricketing prowess across formats with Dharamshala, Lucknow and Chennai, respectively, hosting the matches.
