T20 World Cup: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced a staggering 131 crores cash reward for the T20 World Cup 2026-winning India squad after the Suryakumar Yadav-led side scripted history by becoming the first team to capture three T20 World Cup titles.
In the ICC T20 World Cup final on Sunday, India exorcised the nightmares of 2023, when they had lost the ODI World Cup final against Australia at the very stadium (Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad), as they defeated New Zealand by 96 runs.
The win ensured India became the first team to defend their T20 World Cup title, the first to conquer at a home championship.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the announcement and said, “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of INR 131 crore for Team India following their triumphant campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.”
