T20 World Cup: India’s ace pace Jasprit Bumrah etched his name in Indian cricket history, becoming the eighth Indian bowler to achieve the coveted 500-wicket milestone in international cricket.

Showcasing his exceptional skill and consistency, the star pacer reached this feat with his first wicket in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Bumrah marked his 500th international wicket, dismissing skipper Harry Brook on the first ball of his spell. Brook's aggressive attempt to hit a six ended in a catch to Axar Patel.

Dismissal of Harry Brook marks a milestone moment in his illustrious career, as he becomes the eighth Indian bowler to claim 500 international wickets.

He made his international debut in 2016 and has seen him take 499 wickets in 234 matches across formats. The Ahmedabad fast bowler's tally includes 234 wickets in 52 Tests, 149 in 89 ODIs, and 117 in 94 T20Is.

In the ongoing T20 World Cup, Bumrah has been a key performer for India, claiming 10 wickets in seven matches.

Talking about the match, Sanju Samson's unbeaten 89 off 42 propelled India to a commanding 253/7 against England in the T20 World Cup semifinal. Shivam Dube (43), Ishan Kishan (39), Hardik Pandya (27), and Tilak Varma (21) also contributed with brisk knocks.

England's bowling efforts were led by Will Jacks (2/40) and Adil Rashid (2/41), who claimed crucial wickets to put pressure on India's batting lineup.
