IND vs NZ Final, ICC T20 World Cup 2026: India will be up against New Zealand in the final of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8. India are on the verge of creating the record of becoming the first team to defend their T20 WC title and win the tournament on their home soil. They will be heading into the match on the back of a thrilling 7-run victory over England in the semifinal in Mumbai.
Despite not producing a perfect effort yet, India have been one of the most dominant sides in the tournament. They remained unbeaten throughout the group stage, beating the USA, Namibia, Pakistan and the Netherlands. A defeat against South Africa put them on the backfoot but they bounced back brilliantly with the crucial victories over Zimbabwe and the West Indies to make it to the semifinals. For India, there have been a few concerns, with Abhishek Sharma yet to find his touch.
On the other hand, star opener Sanju Samson has capitalised on the opportunity he got lately. He has produced two successive match-winning performances to help India reach their fourth T20 World Cup final. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah continues to be the standout performer with the ball for the Men in Blue. His incredible spell in the high-scoring semifinal won the hearts of millions of fans. The current narrative on social media hasn't been a positive one, considering the final being played in Ahmedabad, where India lost the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia.
