Gurugram Couple Viral Reddit Post: Buying a home is supposed to feel like a big life win. But for one couple in Gurugram, it has turned into a long, exhausting struggle that has left them disappointed, frustrated, and questioning the city’s real estate reality. The couple, who recently shifted to Gurugram after living in cities like Pune and Bengaluru, thought house-hunting would be manageable with a strong budget. With a spending limit of 'Rs 1.7 crore', they believed finding a decent home wouldn’t be this hard. What followed, however, was far from what they expected.

Soon after starting their search, they found themselves going from one builder to another, only to feel let down every single time. According to the man, most projects they were shown had poor construction quality, outdated designs, or came from builders he described as 'either mediocre or straight-up terrible'. The disappointment kept piling up, visit after visit.

Sharing his experience on Reddit, the man said that if they were still living in Pune, Bengaluru, or even Hyderabad, they would have already bought a good home. Instead, in Gurugram, he feels trapped in what he calls a cycle of overpriced homes that offer very little in return. He didn’t just stop at real estate prices; he also pointed out issues with air pollution, drainage problems, roads, and the overall quality of life in the city. "Feeling completely defeated by Gurgaon’s real estate market," the post read.

In his detailed post, he explained how both he and his wife earn well, with a combined annual income of around 1 crore. They want to buy a home without drowning themselves in heavy loans. While many of their friends in Pune and Noida managed to buy houses under 1 crore, he feels left behind despite earning well. "We’ve set our budget at 1.5 Cr, and we’re willing to stretch maybe to 1.7 Cr. And guess what? There is literally nothing worth even that money in Gurgaon," he wrote.

One user wrote, "Gurgaon, you are competing with big shots. Bengaluru Pune is more about IT only." "You need to understand how markets work and not take it personally. The same 1 CR flat you can easily buy in Pune is totally unaffordable for someone who earns 10LPA in Pune. You see how that works?" a second user wrote.

In the end, the story highlights a growing concern: earning well doesn’t always guarantee peace of mind, especially when the dream of owning a decent home starts feeling out of reach.
