Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan attended producer Kalpathi S Suresh and Meenakshi Suresh’s son’s wedding reception in Chennai on Thursday. The appearance marked their first public outing together since Vijay’s wife Sangeetha Sornalingam filed for divorce. While many personalities from the Tamil film industry attended the event, Vijay and Trisha arriving together quickly grabbed attention online.
Their appearance together comes at a time when Vijay’s personal life has been under intense public scrutiny and widespread discussion across social media and entertainment circles.
Trisha Krishnan has been receiving a lot of flak online after Thalapathy Vijay's wife Sangeetha Sornalingam filed for divorce from the actor. What shocked netizens was when Sangeetha announced her divorce on the grounds of infidelity. Though she didn't name the actress, fans think that Vijay was involved with actress Trisha Krishnan. Though both Trisha and Vijay are yet to comment on this matter.
A netizen commented on Trisha's latest Instagram post, "How many people think Trisha is the reason for Vijay’s divorce," another one wrote, "it's both of their fault to spoil a women's life (if it's true)," a netizen wrote, "Congratulations on breaking a home."

According to a report in India Today, in her petition, Sangeeta noted, "Respondent even after assuring to end relationship continued the adulterous relationship without remorse." These claims form the core basis of Sangeeta’s divorce petition and have been cited as grounds under Sections 27(1)(a) and 27(1)(d) of the Special Marriage Act. Under the Special Marriage Act, 1954, divorce can be sought on grounds of adultery and cruelty, both of which have been cited in Sangeeta’s petition. The case is currently pending before the District Court.
