Brothers Vikram Gandhe and Ajinkya Gandhe from Nagpur won MasterChef India Season 9, lifting the trophy in the grand finale that aired on March 6 on Sony TV and SonyLIV. The café-owner duo impressed judges throughout the season with their strong teamwork and their unique ability to blend traditional Indian flavours with modern presentation.

Following their success on the show, celebrations erupted in Nagpur as the city rallied behind Vikram Gandhe and Ajinkya Gandhe on social media. Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra’s Transport Minister, also congratulated the brothers online, calling their win a proud moment for the city. His message further amplified local pride, with many hailing the duo as cultural ambassadors of their region.

Announcing the winner, Sony Liv India wrote on Instagram, "Congratulations @ajinkyagandhe and @vikramgandhe for becoming the first MCI jodi to win MasterChef India and lifting the trophy with their incredible journey."

MasterChef India Season 9 premiered in January and introduced a new jodi format, where family members competed together as pairs. The show was judged by renowned chefs Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar and Kunal Kapur, who challenged contestants to reimagine Indian flavours with a modern touch.

After weeks of intense tasks, including mystery box challenges and elimination rounds, the competition narrowed down to three finalist pairs. Along with the Vikram Gandhe–Ajinkya Gandhe duo, sisters Anju Pradhan and Manju Ojha, and the mother-daughter pair Chandana Rachakonda and Sai Sri Rachakonda also competed for the trophy and the Golden Chef Coat. The grand finale became even more special with the appearance of celebrated chef Sanjeev Kapoor.
