T20 World Cup: India's opener Abhishek Sharma was absent from Thursday's training session, fuelling concerns over his fitness as the team strengthens preparations for the T20 World Cup encounter against Namibia.

Abhishek is currently recuperating from a stomach upset, leaving his availability for the match in doubt.

"Yeah, Washington joined the team yesterday. He'll train today. Abhi still got a few issues with his tummy. We hope that he'll be available for the game in a few days' time," assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate said ahead of the match against Namibia on Thursday.

The pace ace Jasprit Bumrah's fitness got a boost as he showcased his full capacity, beginning with measured strides before switching to full-tilt bowling to captain Suryakumar Yadav.

"He's been off 10 days without bowling, but he's feeling a lot better and moving a lot better, so we'll see how training goes for them and get the team together on Friday," ten Doeschate added.

In the training, Suryakumar's slick slog-sweep found the boundary, while Tilak Varma's brute force sent the ball soaring into the top tier.

All-rounder Washington Sundar showed some caution with his movements during fielding drills and was initially kept off the ball.

Sundar was deep in conversation with head coach Gautam Gambhir by the boundary, later joining the pacers' nets for a lengthy chat with chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar.
