Former India Batter Shikhar Dhawan Ties Knot With Girlfriend Sophie Shine, Pictures From Private Wedding Ceremony Goes Viral | See Pics

Former India batter Shikhar Dhawan has tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Sophie Shine as the pictures and videos of their private wedding ceremony went viral on social media on Saturday, 21 February. The couple had been dating for over a year, and Dhawan went public about their relationship in May 2025. The pair were widely expected to marry after earlier announcing their engagement on Instagram on 12 January.

Dhawan and Sophie were first seen together during a Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai. Their wedding photographs were made public by fellow Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal on his Instagram account, as he shared glimpses of the ceremony with the caption, "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai." Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie celebrated their haldi ceremony on 20 February, with the latter sharing photographs from the festivities on her Instagram account.

It is Dhawan’s second marriage after he officially separated from his estranged wife, Ayesha Mukherjee, in October 2023, bringing an end to their 11-year marriage. The pair had tied the knot way back in 2011. Ayesha herself has two daughters from a previous marriage. Their relationship, however, broke down after a prolonged period of difficulties.

"From shared smiles to shared dreams. Grateful for the love, the blessings, and every good wish for our engagement as we choose togetherness forever - Shikhar & Sophie," wrote on Instagram while announcing their engagement last month.

Talking about Sophie, she reportedly worked as a product consultant and holds a degree in Marketing and Management from the Limerick Institute of Technology. The Ireland-born professional has an impressive academic background from Castleroy College, and currently serves as Second Vice President at Northern Trust Corporation, based in Abu Dhabi. Sophie completed her entire education in Ireland. She now heads the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Da One Sports.

Having made his debut for India way back in 2010 in an ODI game against Australia, Dhawan went on to score 10,867 runs in international cricket. He also has 6768 IPL runs to his name in 222 career matches, having played for the Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.
