Apart from the match-ups between the players, there are speculations about the weather near the stadium.
Kolkata Weather: As per the AccuWeather website, there is a low chance of rain during match time. The temperatures will hover around 27-30 degrees Celsius, resulting in a conducive environment for a cricket match.

What happens if the South Africa vs New Zealand match is washed out?
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has a reserve day scheduled. If there is a delay, officials have an additional 90 minutes on Thursday and 120 minutes on Friday to ensure at least a five-over match is played.
If the match is abandoned, the outcome will be determined depending on the teams’ position in their respective group’s Super 8 points table.
In that scenario, South Africa will advance to the final since they finished higher than New Zealand in their Super 8 group. South Africa topped their group with 3 wins, remaining unbeaten with six points to their name, while New Zealand finished second with 1 win and 1 no result with three points.

In the case of the final, 120 minutes will be allocated on both designated days. If rain causes a delay, umpires will attempt to adjust the overs accordingly, requiring a minimum of 10 overs per team to declare a result.
