T20 World Cup 2026: The ongoing tournament has smashed all broadcasting records, with India's viewership surpassing 500 million. Co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the event has also broken engagement records on digital platforms like ICC.tv and its social media accounts, further enhancing the sport's global reach.

The mega event, which started with 20 teams, has now reached the semifinal stage. The last four competing teams are reigning champions India, who will face England, and South Africa, who will play New Zealand in the semifinals.

On 1st March, Sunday, during the ongoing event, the Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian side defeated the West Indies and qualified for the semifinals. That match created a new concurrent streaming record on the ICC platform and surpassed the previous high set during the 2024 T20 World Cup summit clash.

“The journey of the @ICC #T20WorldCup 2026 began with the ambition to make it the most #global & #accessible Cricket event ever," Jay Shah, who is the chief of the ICC, had written on his official X account.

Although the semifinals of the 2026 tournament are yet to be held, ICC.tv users have already surpassed the user numbers and total minutes watched during the 2024 T20 World Cup. Comparing the last edition to the ongoing event, unique users are up 28%, and total watch time is up 56%.

The ongoing event has already surpassed 10 billion video views across all ICC social media accounts and is on the verge of achieving the 16 billion milestone set in 2024.

Fan engagement also achieved new milestones this year. Viewers spent more time than ever. The average watch time per unique user rose to 58 minutes from 47 minutes during the Super 8s stage of the last edition, setting a new record.
