India win ICC U19 World Cup 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was quick to react after India's memorable title victory in the ICC U19 World Cup 2026, as the Ayush Mhatre-led side defeated England in the final at the Harare Sports Club on Friday. This was India's sixth U19 World Cup title victory.
The summit clash completely belonged to the young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who played a special knock to help his side reach a huge total of 411/9 after opting to bat first. Sooryavanshi raced to the three-figure mark in a mere 55 balls to become the second fastest centurion in this competition. His smashed multiple records during his stay at the crease, and ended up playing an outstanding knock of 175 runs in 80 balls on the back of 15 fours and as many sixes.
"India’s cricketing talent shines! Proud of our U-19 team for bringing home the World Cup. The team has played very well through the tournament, showcasing exceptional skill. This win will inspire several young sportspersons too. Best wishes to the players for their upcoming endeavours," PM Modi wrote on X.

India bowled England out for 311 in 40.2 overs, as England's Caleb Falconer's effort of 115 runs went in vain. Kanish Chouhan landed the final blow. RS Ambrish was the pick of the bowlers for the Men in Blue, with three wickets to his name. Deepesh Devendran also found a couple of scalps.
