IND vs NZ T20 World Cup Final: India skipper Suryakumar Yadav has thrown his weight behind Varun Chakravarthy ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand, highlighting the team's focus on coordinated performance despite the mystery spinner’s recent struggles.

The spinner has bagged four wickets in as many matches since the Super 8 stage, conceding runs at a threatening economy rate of over 11. With Chakravarthy's form dip, many cricket pundits have sparked a debate about his place in the playing XI, suggesting to include Kuldeep Yadav as a potential replacement.

However, Suryakumar remained hopeful, underscoring Chakravarthy's status as the world's top-ranked T20I bowler and his ability to turn matches around.

"There are no concerns regarding Varun's form. We have won the match due to collective effort and once you have won a match, you shouldn't over-think," Suryakumar Yadav said at the pre-match press conference.

"If you have 11 players, not everyone will perform on each day. There will be ups and downs and there are others to cover for that person. I have no worries about Varun as he is a World No. 1 bowler, he knows how to raise his game on big occasions and win it for his team, and I am sure he will definitely win the final for us," he added.
