X Down Today: Social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) experienced a widespread outage on Monday. According to the outage-tracking website, Downdetector.com, the disruption peaked from 7 PM IST to 7:30 PM, leaving thousands of users across multiple regions unable to access the microblogging app or website.
The disruption primarily affected the United States and several areas in India, where users reported issues in accessing the platform, including difficulties logging in, posting tweets, and refreshing their feeds. The United Kingdom also reported a massive surge in complaints, with over 10,000 users flagging problems on the outage-tracking website, Downdetector.com.
X Suffered Massive Disruptions In January
Elon Musk's X has experienced multiple outages over the last month, including major disruptions on January 13 and January 16. Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from various sources, including user submissions, reported thousands of users complaining about the outage in India, the United States, and the United Kingdom during the disruption.
Users Face Widespread Disruptions On App And Website
In the United States, Downdetector recorded over 40,000 reports of issues with the Elon Musk-owned social media platform as of 9 AM ET. During the same time, over 3,000 users in India flagged similar disruptions, highlighting that thousands of users worldwide experienced widespread outage while accessing the service on Monday.
Data from the outage-tracking website showed that most of the users faced issues with the website, while a few others raised complaints about the mobile application. Users faced difficulties logging in, posting tweets, and refreshing their feeds.
As the outage spiked around 7 PM, users across multiple regions took to social media platforms to express their frustration. "X is down. Let's all go to Threads and talk about it,” one user wrote.
