Iran-Israel War: Mansoureh Khojasteh, the wife of Iran's Late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has died from injuries sustained in recent airstrikes, according to Iranian state media. This comes two days after the death of Khamenei in a series of joint US-Israeli airstrikes, which targeted multiple sites in and around Tehran. Iranian state outlets reported that Khojasteh was injured in the same wave of strikes and later succumbed to her wounds.

Ayatollah Khamenei was killed on Saturday, in what US and Israeli officials described as strikes aimed at key military and security infrastructure. The confirmation of his death by Iranian state media came mere hours after US President Donald Trump publicly announced the cleric’s death, calling the operation part of a broader push for regime change.

In addition to Khamenei, several of his family members, including his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, were also killed in the same series of attacks. A member of the Tehran City Council, cited by Reuters through the Young Journalists Club, had previously confirmed fatalities within the Supreme Leader’s extended family following the strikes.

The deaths of these key family members are expected to amplify domestic pressure on Iran’s leadership and further exacerbate regional tensions. Iranian officials have already issued warnings that any further attacks on the country will trigger a retaliatory response.

In retaliation for the US and Israeli airstrikes, Iran has launched drones and missiles targeting Israel and Gulf regions housing American military personnel. The US Central Command has confirmed the deaths of four American service members in the exchanges.
