Iran-Israel-US War: A massive military conflict broke out between Iran and the US-Israel after Tehran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in 'Operation Epic Fury'. In its retaliation, Iran has attacked the prominent cities of Israel and the US bases in the Middle East region, leading to severe damages. After months of planning, the joint forces of the US and Israel used the "Blue Sparrow" missile to eliminate Khamenei. The missile is considered lethal and is capable of travelling to the edge of space before returning with extremely high speed.
Blue Sparrow missile: Key Details
- It was developed as part of the Israeli Sparrow missile family.
- The family also includes the Black Sparrow and the Silver Sparrow
- Blue Sparrow was designed to match the efficiency of Soviet-designed Scud missiles
- The missile follows a quasi-ballistic trajectory
- Ahead of hitting the target, it climbs high above the atmosphere
- Its trajectory reduces reaction time for defence systems
- The missile's length is 6.5 meters, and it weighs about 1.9 tonnes
- It is usually launched from fighter aircraft
- Blue Sparrow can usually be utilised to hit targets hiding inside defended territory

How The Strike Unfolded?
- Earlier, on February 2, Israeli fighter aircraft took off in the early hours
- The first missile was fired towards central Tehran at around 9.40 am
- As per the reports, around 30 strikes were fired at Khamenei's residence
- Khamenei's residence was targeted with Blue Sparrow missiles, leading to his death
- Several visuals circulated on the social media platforms, showing smoke near his residence
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later claimed that Khamenei was killed in the strikes
- The reports were later confirmed by the Iranian state media.
While US President Donald Trump has asked the Iranian force to surrender, Tehran on Friday asserted that it is ready for a "prolonged" war if the US and Israel do not stop their attacks.
