In the crowded area of Machhi Bazaar, a deranged individual publicly killed a young woman by striking her neck with a cleaver. Following the sensational incident on Monday, the Shahar Kotwali police arrested the accused, identified as Akash Kumar, a resident of Mannuganj, Khurbura Mohalla. The cleaver used in the commission of the crime has also been recovered from his possession.

Background Of The Murder And Police Inaction

The investigation into this brutal murder has revealed that the victim, Gunjan, and the accused had known each other for a long time. However, she had recently stopped speaking to him. The accused had been continuously stalking the woman and had begun to threaten her life.

It has further come to light that the young woman had previously filed a formal complaint against the accused at the Khurbura police post. Despite this, on Monday, the accused brought a cleaver from his home and attacked the woman amidst the crowd, leading to her death.

Chaos In Court: Lawyers Attack Accused

When Akash Kumar, the accused in the Gunjan murder case, was produced in court, lawyers erupted in anger. They surrounded and beat the accused within the court premises. The police managed to rescue him and take him inside the safety of the court building.

The brutal nature of the murder has angered every section of society. The outrage displayed by the legal community has made it clear that the public is deeply distressed by the perceived inaction of the police regarding the victim's prior complaints.

Judicial Remand

Following the proceedings and the chaotic scene at the premises, the court has remanded the accused to judicial custody. The investigation into the matter continues.
