Actor Peter Greene, widely recognised for portraying intense and unpredictable characters in films such as Pulp Fiction and The Mask, has passed away at the age of 60. According to Deadline, Greene was found dead on Friday, December 12, at his Manhattan apartment, a development later confirmed by his manager, Gregg Edwards. The cause of death has not been disclosed at this time. Greene was never a traditional leading man, instead carving a niche with characters that felt unsettling—at times menacing, at times tragic, and often a mix of both.

Peter Greene (born Peter Green; October 8, 1965 – December 12, 2025) was an American actor best known as a character performer who frequently portrayed villains and morally complex figures. He rose to prominence with his memorable turn as the main antagonist Dorian Tyrell in The Mask (1994) and as Zed, the chilling security guard, in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction the same year.

Over the course of his career, Greene appeared in a wide range of films and television projects, earning recognition for his intense screen presence. His notable credits include Laws of Gravity (1992), Judgment Night (1993), Clean, Shaven (1994), Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995), The Usual Suspects (1995), Kiss & Tell (1997), Blue Streak (1999) and Training Day (2001). He later featured in television series such as The Black Donnellys (2007), Life on Mars (2009), New York New York (2016), and most recently The Continental (2023), cementing his legacy as a distinctive and compelling screen actor.

Greene appeared in several notable films during 1994 and 1995, including Pulp Fiction, The Mask, Clean, Shaven and The Usual Suspects, earning recognition for his intense villain roles. He played Zed in Pulp Fiction, Dorian Tyrell in The Mask, a schizophrenic man in Clean, Shaven, and Redfoot in The Usual Suspects, later continuing similar roles in Judgment Night, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, Training Day and The Bounty Hunter. Despite personal struggles and legal troubles in the late 1990s, Greene continued working, collaborating twice with director Jordan Alan and later starring in Blue Streak after Alan vouched for him with the film’s producers.
