Xiaomi did not just show up with new phones. Alongside the Xiaomi 17 lineup, the company quietly introduced the Xiaomi Pad 8 to global markets, and this one feels like a serious attempt to balance power and practicality in the tablet space.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, so it ships with the brand’s latest software vision right out of the box. The display is where it immediately grabs attention. You are looking at an 11.2-inch LCD panel with a 3.2K resolution of 2136 x 3200 pixels. It delivers a sharp 345ppi pixel density and supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate. That means smoother scrolling, cleaner animations, and a more fluid feel overall. Brightness goes up to 800 nits, and Xiaomi says the panel carries TUV Rheinland certification to help reduce blue light strain during long sessions.

Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. This processor is designed to handle demanding tasks without slowing down, whether that is gaming, streaming in high resolution, or juggling multiple apps at once. The Xiaomi Pad 8 is available with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, which gives users room to choose based on their needs.

Cameras are functional rather than flashy. There is a 13-megapixel rear sensor for quick photos and document scans and an 8-megapixel front camera for video calls and online meetings.

Connectivity is modern and forward-looking. The tablet supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4 and uses a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor handles security, while quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support aim to deliver a richer sound experience for movies and music.

Battery life should not be a concern here. The Xiaomi Pad 8 houses a 9,200mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging, which means less time plugged in and more time in use.

Xiaomi is also leaning into productivity. The tablet is compatible with the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro stylus, priced at EUR 99.99, and supports the Focus Keyboard accessory. That combination suggests the Pad 8 is meant to do more than just stream shows. It is clearly positioned as a device for note-taking, light work, and creative tasks.

Pricing for the Xiaomi Pad 8 starts at EUR 449.9 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. It is available in Titanium Blue and other colour options.

Taken together, the Xiaomi Pad 8 feels like a device built for people who want one screen for both downtime and deadlines. It is not just an incremental update. It is Xiaomi trying to make its tablet ecosystem more complete.
