WhatsApp has quietly introduced a small but useful change for iPhone users. The app will now show sticker suggestions automatically when you type an emoji while chatting. The goal is simple. Help people react faster in conversations without having to dig through sticker packs.

Earlier, if you wanted to send a sticker, you had to open the sticker panel and scroll through different packs to find something that matched the moment. With the new update, WhatsApp tries to cut that step out. Now when you type an emoji in the message bar, the app shows stickers that match the same reaction.

So if you type a laughing emoji, you might see stickers with funny reactions. Type a heart emoji and WhatsApp will surface stickers that express love or affection. You can simply tap the one you like and send it instantly.

Part Of The Latest WhatsApp iOS Update

The feature is arriving with WhatsApp for iOS version 26.8.76. Once the update is installed, sticker suggestions start appearing whenever an emoji is entered while typing a message.

Users can also look beyond the first few suggestions. There is a Show more results option that opens up additional stickers, including ones from third party sticker packs that are already installed on the device.

The feature was first spotted by feature tracker WABetaInfo in version 26.8.75 before WhatsApp officially mentioned it in the changelog of the newer update. Early checks show that the feature is already working on some devices after updating the app.

That said, WhatsApp notes that the rollout may take a little time, so some users may see it earlier than others.

WhatsApp Is Testing More Features In The Background

The sticker suggestion feature is just one of several updates WhatsApp has been working on lately. Recently, the company also introduced Group Message History, which allows people who join a group chat later to see messages that were sent before they became part of the group.

There are also reports that WhatsApp is testing SIM binding support for Indian phone numbers, which could strengthen account security by linking accounts more closely to a specific SIM.

Another feature being discussed is a possible premium subscription called WhatsApp Plus. The optional plan is said to bring extra customisation and convenience features and could be introduced on both Android and iOS.

For now, the new sticker suggestion feature focuses on improving everyday chats. It is a small change, but one that could make reacting with stickers quicker and more natural during conversations.
