The Vivo X300 Ultra made its way to the Mobile World Conference (MWC) 2026 that happened in Barcelona. The device will feature a 200 MP primary camera, as per reports claiming that a company executive has confirmed the same and has also shared new details about the upgraded periscope telephoto camera of the device. The company is claiming that this new setup will sport a gimbal-style stabilisation setup, touted to get a CIPA 7.0 professional-grade stabilisation. Apart from that, a new focus-tracking technology might be on the anvil as well.

What Teasers Tell Us

Vivo has started teasing the camera capabilities of its upcoming flagship, the Vivo X300 Ultra. In a recent post on Weibo, Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao revealed that the smartphone will feature a fifth-generation Zeiss-backed 200-megapixel “Thanos” periscope telephoto camera. The system is built around Samsung’s HP0 sensor and is expected to integrate Vivo’s BlueImage imaging technology, which the company says will improve colour accuracy, autofocus, HDR performance, and power efficiency.

The telephoto camera on the Vivo X300 Ultra is also expected to introduce what the company describes as a 3-degree optically stabilised oversized telephoto lens. The design takes inspiration from Vivo’s earlier gimbal-style stabilisation approach. According to Han Boxiao, most traditional telephoto optical image stabilisation systems usually work within a stabilisation range of around 0.7 to 1 degree, while the Vivo X200 Ultra previously offered 1.2-degree stabilisation.

With the new system, Vivo claims stabilisation performance could improve by two to three times, delivering what it calls "gimbal-level stability". The camera is said to achieve CIPA 7.0 professional-grade stabilisation, a standard more commonly seen in dedicated cameras. Vivo says this should help users capture clearer photos at long telephoto focal lengths, such as 200 mm or 400 mm, while also improving handheld video recording at extended zoom levels.

Additionally, Vivo is testing out its new focus tracking technology that will be introduced in the device as well, which will have a “Blueprint high-refresh focus tracking engine" with the capacity of 60 fps motion capture. Which basically means that objects in motion or motion-laden pictures can be taken with much more accuracy, even fast-moving objects. The main lens that was confirmed by a company official first was a Sony LYT-901 as the primary sensor. Which will make this device the first to host two 200 MP cameras, the device showcased at the MWC 2026 also carries a ZEISS telephoto extender kit with it.

For now this looks like the device is going to break all records when it comes to photography. As launch day nears, more official details about the device are expected to show up, so stay tuned.
