Nothing Headphone (a): Nothing was on a launch spree last evening as the company dropped its latest in-line Nothing Phone 4(a) Series. But this was not the only gizmo the London-based smartphone maker had in its bucket this time, and the company also dropped the Nothing Headphone (a) on Thursday in global markets, alongside its smartphone lineup. This comes as the second over-ear offering from the brand, in a more affordable range, compared to its previously launched Nothing Headphone 1. Sporting the Nothing signature look, this is a lightweight alternative that also comes with Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC) support.

What Can These Do?

Weighing 310 g, the device has breathable memory foam for ear comfort and cushioning and can be useful for a long listening session. The company claims that the device comes with Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which can adjust its noise cancellation range depending upon the environment the user is in, accordingly. For your voice calls the device comes with what the company claims is environmental noise cancellation (ENC). A system that uses three microphones is designed to isolate the user's voice, alongside reducing the background noise to clear the communication channel. The headphones also support Static Spatial Audio technology, which the company claims has a surround sound experience with amped-up audio playback.

The earcups are equipped with controls and come in their classic roller, paddle and button layout for your volume control, navigation and mode switching. There is something called 'Channel Hop' as well that the device supports, and it lets users navigate between apps and functions smoothly. Apart from that, the button layout can be used as a camera shutter as well. It can help you click pictures as well as start videos on a paired device. Customisation is also an option with Nothing's companion app.

How long can this device last? This is one of the biggest claims by the company as of now and the device's key highlight. It is claimed to provide 135 hours of playback, which is equal to five days in just one charge. Equipped with fast charging, the headphones are claimed to provide 5 hours of audio playback in 5 minutes' worth of charging. For dust and water protection, it carries a modest IP52 rating.
