Layers Of Fear 3 Announced: Bloober Team Revives Iconic Horror Franchise With Live-Action Teaser

Polish team Bloober have announced that Layers of Fear 3 is officially happening, and the psychological horror series which made them who they are as developers will return. Unveiled via a live-action teaser trailer and dedicated livestream on the 10th anniversary of the original’s release, parties for both games were scheduled to take place this summer. Details remain scant, but the studio also revealed that the franchise will expand beyond video games with the release of new books and music in the future.

Layers of Fear 3 Officially Revealed

The announcement follows a mysterious countdown teased last month by Bloober Team, best known for the Silent Hill 2 remake and Cronos: The New Dawn. The newly revealed Layers of Fear 3 is the fourth main instalment in the series and was unveiled through a live-action teaser that includes lines from William Blake’s poem “The Sick Rose”.

Although the studio has not yet shared gameplay footage or story details, it described the upcoming title as being “more twisted than ever before.” The teaser also reportedly contains hidden hints for long-time fans of the franchise.

Bloober Team Reflects on a Decade of Horror

Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno said the franchise remains deeply personal to the studio, calling it the project that shaped its creative direction. He added that while ten years have passed since the first game, the team is far from done with the universe it created.

Franchise Expands Beyond Games

In addition to the game reveal, Bloober Team also revealed the intention to evolve Layers of Fear into different forms of media. The studio is working with Foksal Publishing Group to publish a novel based on Layers of Fear by the end of 2026. In addition, soundtracks for Layers of Fear, The Medium and Cronos: The New Dawn will be available digitally and on vinyl and CD.

Layers of Fear 3 currently has no release date or platform list. More details should be revealed in the next few months.
