Maharashtra Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for rain in six districts across Marathwada and North Maharashtra. Meanwhile, districts in Western Maharashtra, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur, are likely to witness dry weather conditions. The maximum temperature across the state is expected to range between 29 and 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may hover between 14 and 18 degrees Celsius.
In North Maharashtra, districts including Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar are expected to remain cloudy throughout the day, with the IMD predicting rainfall in some areas. Cloudy conditions are also forecast for the Marathwada region, covering Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Parbhani, Nanded, and Latur, with light rainfall likely on January 27 and 28. Vidarbha districts, Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli, are expected to see partly cloudy skies, with chances of light showers at isolated locations.
Mumbai Weather Update
Mumbai is expected to record a maximum temperature between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to remain between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius. The IMD on Tuesday issued a yellow nowcast warning for Mumbai and Thane, forecasting light spells of rain over the next three hours and advising residents to take necessary precautions as intermittent rainfall may affect parts of the region during morning hours.
According to the IMD, Mumbai recorded mild overnight temperatures, with Colaba registering a minimum of 22.4 degrees Celsius and Santacruz recording 22.6 degrees Celsius. The city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) currently stands at 121, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category, which may cause breathing discomfort for people with lung disorders, asthma, and heart ailments.
Area-Wise AQI In Mumbai Today
AQI levels across Mumbai include Bandra East (108), Kurla (114), Malad West (146), Mazgaon (147), Mulund West (77), Powai (96), Bhandup West (96), Kandivali East (116), Ghatkopar (133), Deonar (135), Colaba (121), Chembur (106), Andheri East (178), and Byculla (95).
Meanwhile, Thane and Kalyan reported AQI levels of 124 each, categorised as moderate, while Navi Mumbai recorded a satisfactory AQI of 94, which may cause minor breathing discomfort to sensitive individuals.
In Dhule, the IMD has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light rainfall, and gusty winds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometres per hour at isolated places. Along with Dhule, districts including Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Sambhajinagar, Jalna, and Parbhani are also under a yellow alert today.
